The alien abduction of Australian Kelly Cahill

The following story is about an Australian family who was abducted by extraterrestrials while driving home after midnight. Their routine trip would soon turn into horrific experience with alien creatures that occupied space, but void of color as we know it. This incident has found its place in ufology as being one of the sightings with the strangest beings of the alien abduction phenomenon.

Their drive home:

On August 8, 1993, sometime after midnight, 27-year-old Kelly Cahill, her husband and their three children were on their way back home after a visit to a friend’s house. As they drove through the Dandenong foothills, near Belgrave, Victoria (Australia), the Cahill family was shocked to see a glowing rounded craft, with windows around it, hovering silently above the road. The object was so close to the ground that Kelly was able to see several shapes, which appeared to be "people" through the windows. Different colored lights were clearly visible underneath the craft. As she began to scream to her husband what she was seeing, the craft zoomed off to their left, disappearing quickly in the darken sky.

The family passes out:

As they continued their drive home, with a renewed interest in the sky, the craft returned with lights much brighter than before, so bright they were practically blinded. As Kelly shielded her eyes with her hands from the intense light, she worriedly asked her husband, "What are you going to do?" Her husband now frightened to death by the glowing presence before them, replied, "I am going to keep on driving." As they sped through the brightness, Kelly was relieved thinking they had escaped the mysterious object. However, within what seemed only a second or two, Kelly was now very relaxed, suddenly calmed. That feeling of ease was all she remembered as she woke up inside their car dazed. Her husband and kids seemed to have passed out as well.

The first words out of Kelly’s mouth were, “What happened, did I blackout?” Her husband did not have an answer and warily continued driving home.

Missing time:

Upon their safe arrival, they were confused and did not realize that they were missing an hour. Subsequently she started smelling a putrid odor, like vomit and as she undressed for bed, she noticed an odd triangular mark on her navel. It must have been created early this very night. But how? And why? And most importantly, by whom? Kelly began to undergo a series of odd illnesses; often gynecological in nature and had flashes of what she could only conclude to be an alien abduction. For two weeks after the incident, she was hospitalized due to uterine infection and abdominal pains.

Recalling their harrowing experience:

It was only later that these abductees managed to recall the other events of that fearful night, and without any outside aid such as regressive hypnosis, or counseling. They would recall the UFO hovering in a gully, which was a different place where they first spotted it. Her husband parked the car nearby; both of them exited the vehicle and approached the massive craft, estimated at 150 feet in diameter.

“Heaps of them”:
To their surprise, another car also parked by the roadside near their vehicle. As they approached the spaceship, they found a group of mysterious creatures congregating beneath the craft, “heaps of them”, is how Kelly described them as she stared into the open field. These creatures, unlike either one of them had ever seen before, were described by Kelly, as “not having a soul”, about seven feet tall, with big red glowing eyes and were black in color – black, as in “pure nothingness” and were “void of color” yet their shapes were clearly discernible.

The aliens’ eyes suddenly lit up, began to move away from the craft, and came charging towards them across the field. Half way across, they suddenly split into two groups. One of the groups glided toward Kelly and her husband covering a hundred yards in a mere few seconds, while another group also moved gliding toward the other car, which was parked near the hovering craft. They suddenly froze in fear seeing those strange creatures rapidly coming towards them.

Foul-smelling aliens:

Kelly had a sense that the creatures were evil. She clung to her husband, fighting the feeling of blacking out. Her great fear and dread would cause her to scream at the alien-looking entities to leave them alone. Afterward, everything did go pitch-black and then she was back in the car conscious but totally disoriented. She also had hazy memories of foul-smelling aliens performing what seemed to be medical procedures on her and her family. As strange as this encounter seems, the owners of the other car substantiated the family’s claims. The occupants in the other car would come forward and tell almost an exact story, a story of abduction, mind control, and embarrassing medical procedures.

She also had unexplained tiredness and an infection that lasted a week. Other women had reported the same experiences on the same night and even drew the exact same type of spacecraft and creatures even though they had never met Kelly. They also had similar triangular marks and vague memories of dark creatures operating on them.

Kelly recalled through dreams of a black alien stooping over her helpless, nude body as if he was kissing her navel. From all indications of the descriptions of the aliens, they were intruding into our dimension, taking space in our universe, yet without solid form, even though shapes, heads, eyes, and arms could be distinguished. Could these strange and eerie beings simply slipped from a parallel existence into ours? Or were they from a distant future?

Other witnesses:

One of the other women from that same encounter, named Glenda, who was in the other car, had some physical traces on her body that showed marks on her right leg and ankles. Moreover, when different groups of people who witnessed the event were interviewed, they were asked to draw what they had seen and the similarity between them, both the ship and its occupants is notable. The drawings made by Kelly, Jane and Glenda (see the drawings below) show almost the exact UFO and the entities seen by them that same night. Kelly did not know these witnesses until her account became known.

It is quite obvious that she and her family were in fact abducted by aliens as multiple independent witnesses came forward to corroborate the horrifying ordeal that the Cahill family experienced. These aliens are different from the Grays or other extraterrestrial beings witnessed by other abductees, but we have no reason to dismiss the Cahill’s account as a mere fantasy, imagination or a hoax.
Skeptics, as you would expect, dismiss cases like this without offering any evidence to support their theories, except the commonly used statement: “it can’t happen, so therefore it didn’t happen.” Of course, people who believe in UFOs are – in the eyes of the majority of society – seen as slightly off-balance. Not necessarily mad, but definitely “weird” – “eccentric”. But can the same be said of the other women who had similar triangular marks and vague memories of dark creatures operating on them and subsequently even drew the exact same type of spacecraft and creatures even though they had never met Kelly?

The Kelly Cahill affair is without question one of the best-documented alien abduction cases in UFO history and has some of the best evidence for the legitimacy of UFOs and the alien abduction phenomena. Most alien abduction cases have a single person relating his or her case to authorities and investigators. It is extremely unusual to have multiple witnesses, especially those totally unknown to the experiencer, to validate the facts of an alien abduction and for this reason; it has found a proper place in the fields of ufology.

This was a very strange UFO encounter. I can't believe that there's people out there that won't believe these three couples. One is a nurse and the other a banker. Do you really think that they need the Publicity. I don't think so!

Although there have been many unexplained sightings in the town of Lajas, the situation there has been hyped by the amount of lies and exaggeration by a group of so-called, "ufologists" who ignore other areas of Puerto Rico to promote tourism in Lajas. That was evident when my wife and my daughter confronted a terrifying experience in the town of Aguada with extraterrestrials and that group of charlatans refused our plea for help. Of course, if it happened in Lajas they would have jumped on the opportunity for fame and tourism for that town. Those hoaxes and lies were approved and sanctioned by the then mayor of that town who named route 303 "The extraterrestrial route". The idea of building an "UFOport" (ovnipuerto), “la llorona sightings" and the biggest hoax of them all, "that a UFO crashed there" all this could only be found in a science fiction novel.

The dancing alien

About me

Ufologist, criminal investigator, musician, artist and writer.

I worked 20 years for the New York City Department of Correction. First as a Correction Officer for 4 years, Captain for 12 years, and as a Deputy Warden for 4 years. As a law enforcement officer and supervisor, I have conducted countless of criminal investigations, some for unimaginable allegations.

On June of 2005, after my retirement, I moved to Puerto Rico with my family where my wife and my daughter faced extraordinary experiences with extraterrestrials. These alien encounters, subsequent abductions of my wife and the lack of help from so-called, "ufologists" here on the island, prompted me to become involved in the field of ufology and in the need to help others who have had similar experiences.
