A skeleton of a Chupacabras found in Jayuya, Puerto Rico?

On December 24, 2002, at about 1:30 pm (13.30 hours), in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, a pair of little boys exploring a construction site stumbled across the skeleton of a bizarre creature that dumbfounded experts cannot identify, and which frightened locals believe it may be the fabled Chupacabras!

The sharp-clawed creature, found on the site where dozens of farm animals had mysteriously killed, has the fangs of a carnivore and apparently walked upright on its hind legs like a human.

"The creature would appear to measure approximately two feet in height," according to a report in the Spanish-language newspaper "Diario La Tribuna."

"Also it had a series of spines down its back, in a similar form to that of a reptile or fish. The bone structure of the legs clearly shows that the creature was able to jump considerably high.

The amazing discovery was made on Christmas Eve by 10-year-old Sixto Oquendo and his kid brother Angel, 6, as the youngsters poked around a construction site in the barrio. They raced home and Sixto breathlessly alerted their mother Adelaida.

"I sort of dismissed his claim, thinking he was playing around, but he kept on trying to get my attention," she told the paper.

Curious, the mom eventually went with the boys, who pointed out the decomposed carcass that was half buried in the basement excavation of a new home.

The flabbergasted mother ran and got her husband, Cesar, who slipped a piece of cardboard under the remains and dragged them into the sunlight.

"We wanted to see if this was indeed a Chupacabras or something like that," Adelaide explained.

A forensic-science investigator was called in to examine the freakish body but his conclusions have not yet been reported. However, preliminary observations by local animal experts leave no doubt this is not a run-of-the mill beast. For starters, the creature shows signs of amazing upper body strength as well as a crushing jaw and fang-like canine teeth.

Since the 1990s, Puerto Rico has been terrorized by an elusive creature dubbed the "Chupacabras, or Goatsucker," for its fondness for sucking the blood out of helpless goats. The monster, usually described as walking on two legs, has done in thousands of farm animals and pets.

The skeleton is indeed the first ever found of a Chupacabras, it would explain numerous baffling attacks in the area earlier in the year.

On the property where the strange remains were discovered, eight hens and a rooster had been found dead outside their cages.  At least 30 other chickens were slain by something unknown in the vicinity around the same time. The killing spree ceased two months before the skeleton was found.

Lajas

Although there have been many unexplained sightings in the town of Lajas, the situation there has been hyped by the amount of lies and exaggeration by a group of so-called, "ufologists" who ignore other areas of Puerto Rico to promote tourism in Lajas. That was evident when my wife and my daughter confronted a terrifying experience in the town of Aguada with extraterrestrials and that group of charlatans refused our plea for help. Of course, if it happened in Lajas they would have jumped on the opportunity for fame and tourism for that town. Those hoaxes and lies were approved and sanctioned by the then mayor of that town who named route 303 "The extraterrestrial route". The idea of building an "UFOport" (ovnipuerto), “la llorona sightings" and the biggest hoax of them all, "that a UFO crashed there" all this could only be found in a science fiction novel.

The dancing alien

About me

Ufologist, criminal investigator, musician, artist and writer.

I worked 20 years for the New York City Department of Correction. First as a Correction Officer for 4 years, Captain for 12 years, and as a Deputy Warden for 4 years. As a law enforcement officer and supervisor, I have conducted countless of criminal investigations, some for unimaginable allegations.

On June of 2005, after my retirement, I moved to Puerto Rico with my family where my wife and my daughter faced extraordinary experiences with extraterrestrials. These alien encounters, subsequent abductions of my wife and the lack of help from so-called, "ufologists" here on the island, prompted me to become involved in the field of ufology and in the need to help others who have had similar experiences.
